“'The Church as a whole and all her Pastors, like Christ, must set out to lead people out of the desert, towards the place of life, towards friendship with the Son of God, towards the One who gives us life, and life in abundance.'” It often happens that Christians are more concerned for the social, cultural and political consequences of their commitment, continuing to think of the faith as a self-evident presupposition for life in society. In reality, not only can this presupposition no longer be taken for granted, but it is often openly denied.

Occupy Springfield expose their anti-Christian bias by attacking Christian minister Scott Lively. Occupy Springfield has publicly stated that one of their goals is to drive Pastor Lively and his Christian mission out of town. Dr. Lively, a Springfield native, established Redemption Gate Mission Society a few years ago and set up the Holy Grounds Coffee House in inner-city Springfield to bring Christian faith to the downtown area. The coffee house has gained great popularity in the neighborhood as a spiritual oasis in an often dangerous area. But this time the Christians stood up to this intimidation.

Dec 25 Sat Merry Christmas, no 10AM Mass with Fr. Grattorati.
