My cousin's son, Chris Sparadeo, is fundraising to work with the Nicaraguan based NGO, blueEnergy. A registered 501(c)3, blueEnergy is currently focused on the East Coast of Nicaragua, where roughly 75% of the population has neither access to electricity nor life-sustaining clean water and sanitation. Chris will primarily work on establishing sustainable latrines, photovoltaic solar systems, water filters, efficient stoves and environmental education. He needs to raise $7,200 for air fare, room, fees board and health insurance for the 12 months he'll live & work in Nicaragua. About 50% of the funds raised will be directly donated to charitable efforts in Nicaragua, which means half of your donation amount is tax deductible on your Fed. taxes (form #8283).
