40 Days for Life Campaign Closing event

Oct 29 Fri 3PM Campaign Closing Event for 40 Days for Life - Problem Pregnancy 495 Pleasant St. Worcester. Mass at Problem Pregnancy for the closing of Planned Parenthood, Fr. Laurence Brault, from Holy Angels Parish in Upton will celebrate Mass, then we will process with the Monstrance around Planned Parenthood and close with The Divine Mercy Chaplet, Benediction and Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

A lesson from the sidewalk
One of the great practitioners and promoters of sidewalk counseling is Monsignor Philip Reilly of Brooklyn, NY.
One of the points he repeatedly emphasizes is that most abortion-bound women who decide against abortion, do so after entering the abortion facility.

That is, they hear and see the pro-lifer(s), go in, and later come out.

Rare is the woman who walks directly away without going into the clinic.
Therefore, he stresses the need to conduct ourselves in a way that the woman will want to talk to us on the way out. And even prefer to see us rather than the clinic personnel.
Boston example
Coincidentally, one of our counselors was at A Woman's Concern in Dorchester on Wednesday when a woman walked in. She was a turnaround at P.P. last week and she was at AWC for her followup appointment.

They exchanged greetings and the woman told the sidewalk counselor, "The reason I talked with you [after exiting Planned Parenthood] is that you didn't bark at me" [on the way in].

"I myself had four abortions," Linda wrote. "1976, 1979, 1982, 1985. This year -- 2010 -- in June, I only have begun to feel the release of guilt, blame and shame for what I have done. It took me 24 years before I attended a post-abortion healing retreat. It took me another nine years to be a part of the Silent No More program."

Who to Vote for - Gov and Top State Offices

MCFL State PAC has endorsed State Treasurer, Tim Cahill, for Governor in the Nov. election, saying Cahill, "will bring commonsense solutions to protecting their rights and their lives. Cahill holds pro-life positions on all aspects of the issue, from abortion funding to informed consent, to partial birth abortion and parental consent. Very important also is his opposition to Physician Assisted Suicide..."
Do not be fooled by Charlie "Big Dig" Baker, whom Brian Camenker of Massresistence.org says "Charlie Baker and Richard Tisei represent the new uber-RINO left-wing country-club wave of the Massachusetts Republican Party"

For Governor - Tim Cahill (I) v. Pro-Abortion Charlie Baker (R) and Deval Patrick (D)

For Treasurer - Karen Polito (R) is fiscally conservative but Pro-Choice, though against Tax funded abortion. She's promised to take away State pensions for politicians. She is better than hardcore Leftist DEM Steve Grossman who is endorsed by NARAL Pro-Choice.
For Sheriff - Pro-Life Lew Evangelidis (R) v. Foley (D)
For Auditor Mary Connaughton (R) v. Pro-Abortion Suzanne Bump (D) Help Connaughton as she was viciously attacked by Know thy Neighbor for defending Traditional Marriage.
For AG - Pro-Life Jim McKenna (R) is the Pro-Life/Pro-Family alternative to the Pro-Abortion anti-family nutcase Martha Coakley (D)
Sec. of State William Campbell (R) best choice over Bill Glavin (D) who is not too bad

Governor's Council
First District: Oliver Cipollini, Jr. (D), Charles Oliver Cipollini (R) (no misprint here)
Second District: Richard Mitchell (U) voterichmitchell. com
Third District: Marilyn Devaney (D)
Fifth District: Mary-Ellen Manning (D)
Sixth District: Paul Caruccio ( R ) paulcaruccio2010. com
Eighth District: Michael Franco ( R )

Ballot Questions
1. Repeal recent double-tax on alcohol - Yes
2. Repeal 40B Low housing zoning - Yes it allows Land speculation and is a local not a State job (debatable for Catholics though)
3. Reduce recently raised (to 6.25% from 5%) Sales Tax down to reasonable 3% - Yes help force some fiscal restraint on our elected officials

Since all of our Massachusetts Congressional representatives are Pro-abortion, any vote against them could be considered a good vote.

Oct 23 Sat Abortions all morning at Planned Parenthood 470 Pleasant St. Worcester. Prayers in back, sidewalk counselors up front.
40 Days for Life story: Johanna Miller wrote to the Wausau [WI] Daily Herald to respond to an earlier letter writer who was critical of the campaign and claimed that abortion was controversial and complex.
In her response, Johanna pointed out that this writer "resorts to name-calling to defend her position," referring to vigil participants as "anti-choice."
"Choose what?" Johanna asked. "Choose to kill a defenseless human being? Yes, I am against making that choice, and will advocate for the restriction of that
choice." She added that the peaceful pro-life presence is "a reminder that women do not have to make a bad choice to escape crises or difficult circumstances."
The original letter writer claimed to be standing up for women. However, Johanna said that opposing the 40 Days for Life vigil "because it makes you feel uncomfortable is not standing up for women."
