40 Days for Life Campaign Closing event

Oct 29 Fri 3PM Campaign Closing Event for 40 Days for Life - Problem Pregnancy 495 Pleasant St. Worcester. Mass at Problem Pregnancy for the closing of Planned Parenthood, Fr. Laurence Brault, from Holy Angels Parish in Upton will celebrate Mass, then we will process with the Monstrance around Planned Parenthood and close with The Divine Mercy Chaplet, Benediction and Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

A lesson from the sidewalk
One of the great practitioners and promoters of sidewalk counseling is Monsignor Philip Reilly of Brooklyn, NY.
One of the points he repeatedly emphasizes is that most abortion-bound women who decide against abortion, do so after entering the abortion facility.

That is, they hear and see the pro-lifer(s), go in, and later come out.

Rare is the woman who walks directly away without going into the clinic.
Therefore, he stresses the need to conduct ourselves in a way that the woman will want to talk to us on the way out. And even prefer to see us rather than the clinic personnel.
Boston example
Coincidentally, one of our counselors was at A Woman's Concern in Dorchester on Wednesday when a woman walked in. She was a turnaround at P.P. last week and she was at AWC for her followup appointment.

They exchanged greetings and the woman told the sidewalk counselor, "The reason I talked with you [after exiting Planned Parenthood] is that you didn't bark at me" [on the way in].

"I myself had four abortions," Linda wrote. "1976, 1979, 1982, 1985. This year -- 2010 -- in June, I only have begun to feel the release of guilt, blame and shame for what I have done. It took me 24 years before I attended a post-abortion healing retreat. It took me another nine years to be a part of the Silent No More program."
