Ponder these

“Fascist governments have sometimes come to power by democratic election, whereas communist governments have always relied on a coup d’état.”
Roger Scruton

A fellow Catholic attempted to justify a vote for the party of death in the upcoming election, lamenting the President's alleged incompetence, citing the wall, the virus and Fewer abortions under the Party of Death in the Oval Office.
I countered with 3 counter points.

1. The reason to build a wall on the US/Mexican border could be gleaned from the Wikipedia's entry on 'Human trafficking in Mexico'

"A third of the people annually trafficked into the United States are from Latin America, and the vast majority of these people enter the US through the Mexico–United States border.[14] This extremely porous border has historically been the site of one of the most protracted labor migrations in the world, and is North America's largest transit site for young children exploited in labor and sex trafficking as of 2011."

"Mexico is one of the global centers of the child prostitution trade",

"Mexican women, girls, and boys are subjected to sexual servitude within the United States and Mexico, lured by false job offers from poor rural regions to urban, border, and tourist areas."

A wall would make it more difficult for trafficers to lure and kidnap unsuspecting migrants, trapping them into this horrendous life. I do think Congress needs to address the issue of the 11-20 Million undocumented workers in a just way, that should include paths to legal status though not necessarilly the right to vote, as well as the deportation of those convicted of felonies related to gang activity.

2. It would now be difficult to accept the original story on Covid-19 out of China, backed by the World Health Organization, that the virus originated naturally in the Wet Market in Wuhan. Professor Giuseppe Tritto, "an internationally known expert in biotechnology and nanotechnology who has had a stellar academic career", and president of the World Academy of Biomedical Sciences and Technologies (WABT), wrote a book explaining how to prove Covid-19 was generated in a lab - the gaps in the DNA model provided by China map to AIDS genes spliced onto other viruses for dangerous "gain of function" research - research considered too dangerous to be allowed in the United States.

Most recently the Chinese Scientist wistleblower told the same origin to Tucker Carlson, but I blogged on the origin of Covid19 back on April 18th, linking to the early coverage back in January by the Epoch Times, and the original documentary questioning the story that it originated in a lab.
So I would argue that Trump's travel ban from China on January 31st saved hundreds of thousands of lives.

3. As to fewer abortions under Democrats, that is a tricky statistic, because all of the chemical pharmacuetical abortions with RU-486 (Mifepristone) and other abortifacaent drugs are not counted. But Pro-Lifers are not trying to make abortion illegal as unthinkable.

President Trump Condemns White Supremacists, the KKK and Neo-Nazis Two Days After Charlottesville Violence | TIME
What he would not condemn is the mixed race group that promotes American exceptionalism. Isn't mixed race racist an oxymoron? Or a contradiction in terms?

So why did Chris Wallace ask Trump to Condemn White Supremacists during the 1st debate?

Dutch journalist José Been expressed to her American Twitter followers that “this horrible presidency ends for you,” after which she added “if you follow me and support Trump, you can go.”
Rising 19-year-old Quinn Simmons, winner of the men's junior event at the road cycling World Championships in Harrogate, England in 2019 and a rider for the US-based World Tour team sponsored by Trek-Segafredo, sent a one word reply: "Bye" with a waving hand emoji. Trek-Segafredo's response included the claim to be "an organization that values inclusivity and supports a more diverse and equitable sport for all atheletes...Regretably, team rider Quinn Simmons made statements online that we feel are divisive, incendiary, and detrimental to the team, professional cycling, its fans, and the positive future we hope to help create for the sport...In response, he will not be racing for Trek-Segafredo until further notice."
