“The brothers and sisters of mainland China are not afraid of being reduced to poverty, of being put into prison, of shedding their blood.
Their greatest suffering is to see themselves betrayed by ‘family’.”
_- Cardinal Joseph Zen Zekiun, bishop emeritus of Hong Kong
China has strict suppression of religion, and there are essentially two 'catholic' churchs in China, the offical Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association, CPCA and the underground Roman Catholic Church. Only the CPCA is officially recognized while the underground Catholic Church is persecuted. The CPCA has replaced the Crucifix in all Catholic Churchs with Red Flag of China. The CPCA, under the direction of the Chinese Communist Party also selects Bishops for the Catholic Church in China, Rome is not allowed to appoint Bishops without Chinese approval. Various Chinese appointed Bishops in China have been excommunicated going all the way back to Pope Pius XII. China is an
evil empire run by Godless and murderous atheists that seek world dominiation.

The latest Vatican agreement with China, negotiated by disgraced former Cardinal Ted McCarrick, is a disasterous deal, where the Vatican sold out Chinese Catholics by allowing formerly excommunicated Bishops to be appointed by China to the CPCA, in effect allowing Chinese persecution of Catholics in thier country. The purpose of this persecution "is intended to re-engineer their very souls and turn them into good, obedient, docile followers of the Chinese Communist Party,”
China expert and social scientist Steven Mosher warned.
Yet the Pope told Chinese Catholics to be good citizens, the Church wants Chinese Christians to be good citizens. Why?
And as unseemly as it is, Vatican officials have not only abandoned the Catholic Church in China but also critisized Cardinal Zen their defender. Over a year ago the Vatican’s Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who was prevented by Pope Benedict from signing an agreement with China, said in Jan. 31 [2018]
interview with La Stampa that the Church knows the sufferings endured by the Chinese people but is confident that once the question of episcopal appointments has been settled, the obstacles to Chinese Catholics living in communion with the Pope and among themselves should be greatly diminished." Two years on Catholics are still persecuted in China, still martyred.
Dean of the sacred college, Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, publicly rebuked Cardinal Zen in a letter to all the cardinals on Feb. 26th, saying Zen's assertion that the China concordant signed by Pope Francis was the same one rejected by Pope Benedict.
Sandro Magister's article on this points to a problem for Cardinal Re, in that Cardinal Zen's latest response is for Re to put up or shut up, show the secret document that Francis signed with China.

Perhaps Rome and all Italy are
suffering chastizement for Vatican duplicity.
