Abortions for everyone!
Recently in Commonwealth Magazine, former Senate President Harriett Chandler and NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts Executive Director Rebecca Hart Holder authored a piece urging the legislature to act to expand access to abortion. The subtitle? “Those Under 18 Shouldn’t Need Permission for an Abortion.”
They write: “Current state laws create unnecessary hurdles to access abortion care; they require young women under the age of 18 to obtain parental consent or appear before a judge to gain permission to have an abortion. Additionally, women … can be forced to travel great distances and spend tens of thousands of dollars to receive abortion care… Such laws are unfair and unjust, robbing women of the vital healthcare they deserve.”
This is a battle that We as Pro-Lifers must fight. Please help us stop them with two simple actions:
1. Talk to your legislator in person—when you see him or her at an event this Christmas, or at office hours. Make a plan. Seek him out. Ask if this legislation is really what he has as a priority. Is it what he signed up for when running for office? Plan to attend our Lobby Day next year.
2. Donate to Renew MA to help them to bring activists to the State House to lobby against this, to launch advertisements to tell voters that it is coming, and to contact tens of thousands of regular people who will get involved if they know what the legislature has planned.
$100 will allow Renew MA to contact over 10,000 voters with an autocall, and $50 will allow for over 10,000 impressions to targeted voters on Facebook.
Mar 6 2018 next 40 Days for Life campaign will run from Ash Wednesday to Palm Sunday 2019, April 14, 2019)
