Fortnight for 'Pro-Life' Freedom

When National Organization of Marriage, NOM Chairman John Eastman was threatened by Congressman Earl Blumenauer that NOM’s tax exempt status should be revoked because of their defense of Traditional Marriage, Prof. Eastman came back with this money quote:

"Representative Blumenauer, it's your kind of statements that have empowered IRS agents to make determinations about which organizations qualify for the public good and which do not. The notion that defending traditional marriage doesn't qualify as a defense of the public good is beyond preposterous."

Later with Neal Cavuto of Fox Business News, Eastman expounded, "We've got people in government and their allies outside of government that are willing to commit felonies to shut down their political opposition on major contested issues of the day…"

Jun 21 Fri 7pm Solemn Vespers, Cathedral of St. Paul, Worcester. Worcester Diocese Kick-off to the Fortnight for Freedom. National call to action for Catholics to stand up for Religious Freedom, stand against the threats to and violations of religious liberties that American Catholics now face.

Jun 25 Tue – Special election to replace Massachusetts U.S. Senator John Kerry. Democrat ‘Dirty’ Ed Markey versus ‘new’ Republican Gabriel Gomez who is not Pro-Life but Markey is trying to portray as being ‘personally Pro-Life’. What a choice! [see comments]

Just because our government is embroiled in IRS political intimidation scandal, a newspaper source political intimidation scandal, and a Prism meta-data of every phone call political intimidation scandal, that all this would prevent HHS Secretary Katherine Sibellius having the IRS enforce the denial of Religious Liberty at Catholic hospitals and Universities scheduled for Aug. 1.

About a thousand died there. - Stephen Graydanus

Mr. Gomez,
Your resume is very impressive and my husband and I were prepared to give you our votes. THEN - I read that you are "a new Republican". What exactly is "a new Republican"? Sounds like you have a different agenda than one that supports traditional morals and values upon which our country was founded. UNTIL - we saw your vote-getting smile at the Gay Pride Parade where you brought your 8 yr. old son who was sitting in a booth next to one that was giving condoms, lubricants, etc. NOW - I visited your site for your position on the issues.
Life Issues
I am a proud Catholic, and pro-life. Good so far.
But Roe v Wade is settled law. Politicians spend way too much time on divisive issues that are already decided and far too little time on fixing our economy. Really? Tell that to the 52+ million babies that have been slaughtered. Don't you think our economy would be fixed if we had 52+ million more people contributing to it? Do you support a law that legally allows murder? How much do you know about abortions and their results ? Roe v. Wade is a blight on America and will be overturned in God's time who BTW is in control. Mr. Gomez, you are not pro-life.
Marriage
I oppose discrimination of any kind. Same sex couples should be free to marry. No they shouldn't as the Catholic Church and most religions teach. Everyone should have civil rights. Marriage is between one man and one woman as created by God. You can't fit a square peg into a round hole. Goes against human design.
Mr. Gomez, you are a CINO (Catholic In Name Only). In order to be a Catholic you freely and proudly accept and adhere to the tenets of the Catholic Church: scripture, tradition, magisterium. OR - you're not a Catholic. You can't pick and choose what is convenient at the moment. I am a traditional Catholic who would give my life for my Faith. Do you ever think of the four-letter word SOUL and its role in your eternal salvation? I hope you reflect upon these issues before the Blessed Sacrament and listen to what He is telling you.
Mr. Gomez, you are straddling the moral fence. Sooner or later you have to choose which side you'll be on. If not, your fate may be decided for you by the moral majority of Americans who send straddlers home from Washington. Neither you or Mr. Markey will get our votes. Our ballots will be blank which are profound statements.

Sincerely,
Pauline M

New Republican as in New Catholic [Worcester Diocese style]. Sin doesn't really exist. There is no Hell. Don't worry, have a good time and just enjoy life.

Catholicism as it has been practiced for 2,000 years is just a bunch of Gobbledygook.

Rock on dude!

The Worcester Diocese has a critical need for faithful Catholic priests. Why then are faithful prospects such as Paul Melanson not even allowed to apply?

Is it because he readily accepts and defends the Church's teaching in the area of sexual morality?

Father Lowe Dongor was accepted. And he turned out to have a sexual interest in children. Father Jean-Paul Gagnon was ordained even though a psychiatrist warned the diocese not to ordain him because of gender confusion issues.

Where is our diocese going?
