They want marriage, they just don't want to get married

This is how they behave in public? What would their mothers say?

Apologies excepted

The recent death of Mrs. Ruth Graham, the beloved wife of preacher Billy Graham, has caused renewed reflection on her oft quoted comment: "If God does not judge America soon, he'll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah."

Be not afraid...

...in Iraq, who's history has not been completely written yet, embed extrodinaire Michael Yon reports that something big is about to happen. Yon presents a balanced view, a view with criticism and hope. He has praise for General Petraeus, and addresses the issue of 'smart politics' as the key to settling Iraq.
"At least part of the reason we are not seeing even wider-spread open-necked reprisals for the recent bombings (though the reprisals have been serious) is because our current leadership under Petraeus is adroitly pushing political buttons behind the curtains. Based on things I saw, heard, and even videotaped while out among Iraqi tribal leaders in Anbar, unseen hands are reaching out and finding peace with tribes where others found war. Based on what I see all around Iraq, and not just in Anbar, I believe intuitively that most of this war can be ended through smart politics."

It's not over...

JayG:What the heck we 'suppos'd to do ya moron?

D-Day: War's over, man. Deval dropped the big one.
Bluto: What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the going gets tough . . . the tough get going. Who's with me? Let's Go! Come on! AAAAEEEEEGGGHHHH!! [Bluto runs out of the room alone; then returns] What the ____ happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...
Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons. But that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

Bluto: We're just the guys to do it.
D-Day: Let's do it.
Bluto: LET'S DO IT!

True History

June 10, 2007
letters@telegram.com
English Professor Mike True is giving the comfort of tenure on Salisbury St. a bad name (As I See It, 6/6/2007 feed missing). In divorcing history from truth, he muddles Catholic theology, e.g. his criticism of Pope Benedict for disciplining Liberation Theologian Fr. Jon Sobrino.

Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Protestants and all Christians agree that Jesus is God, as clearly stated in the early Church Councils, back when we were all one Church. When a Catholic theologian, Fr. Sobrino, calls the early Church Councils "dangerous" and diminishes the divinity of Jesus by referring to Him as at most "of God" it should come as no surprise that same Catholic theologian is corrected by the Catholic Pope. Jesus cannot be reduced to a Marxist superhero liberator of the poor when He is the messiah, God incarnate, sent to liberate all from their sins; not for the sake of this world but that we may stand in the presence of God in the next.

The Pope's document addresses why Fr. Sobrino was disciplined: "Theology arises from obedience to the impulse of Truth which seeks to be communicated, and from the love that desires to know even better the One who loves – God himself – whose goodness we have recognized in the Act of Faith. For this reason, theological reflection cannot have a foundation other than the faith of the Church."

Jay G

Money changes everything

In case you had forgotten the above saying, just start paying attention to the 2008 election;
Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius is tight with abortionist Dr. George Tiller. The Spirit One Christian Center criticized this, posting a sign at their Church which said, "Sebelius accepted $300,000.00 from abortionist Tiller, price of 1000 babies."
Now the IRS is investigating.
