Political interests
As the truth starts to come out about Jeffery Epstein, do not focus on the victims, thought they deserve help and sympathy. Keep your eyes on the prize:
- Why did the Palm Beach County District Attorney Barry Krisher plan to let Epstein off with no jail time, no restitution and no sex offender registration when charges were first brought against Epstein in 2006?
- Causing then Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter to reach out for Federal intervention, for fear that pressure would allow Epstein to get off scott-free and his police department would not be allowed to bring a case against Epstein to the district attorney
- which caused then Federal District Attorney Alex Acosta (now Secretary of Labor) to spend 2 years investigating Epstein, sending Epstein to 13 months of prison with work-release days (up to 12-hours). At least Epstein had to register as a sex offender, but still a very light sentence

During Acosta's confirmation as Secretary of Labor, he was asked by the White House about this lenient sentence, and Acosta replied that he was told to wrap things up, Epstein was above his pay grade and 'belonged to Intelligence.'
