Dale O’Leary, author of “One Man, One Woman, A Catholic’s Guide to Defending Marriage”, (available at Shower of Roses in W.Boylston), has written a well-researched, thorough and compassionate defense of our Church’s teaching that marriage is a life-long union between one man and one woman. I will be quoting from her work to help all of you become familiar with the facts that are so critical to our outreach and help to our brothers and sisters who have Same-Sex Attraction, SSA. “Homosexual behavior is not a novelty of modern times…However in almost every past society and era, it has been regarded as unacceptable, immoral, a sign of weakness, unnatural.” “…those who promote the gay agenda today often point to classical Greece as a culture in which homosexual behavior was glorified. But would they really want to return to classical Greek values? The sexes were strictly separated. Woman were restricted to the home, not educated, and generally regarded as inferior. Adult male citizens were allowed to pursue sexual relationships with adolescent boys whom they were supposed to educate. Once the boys reached maturity, though, they were expected to marry women. What we had then was not an enlightened approach to sexuality, but an organized form of abuse – of both women and boys.”

Problem Pregnancy has saved thousands of babies in its 32-year history and relies on this principal fundraising event to sustain their life-saving work of helping mothers in crisis choose life for their babies and providing them with needed aid to support their life-affirming decision. This is an excellent opportunity of service for parish Respect Life ministries, Knights of Columbus councils, and others.
