Apr 30 Tue – Primary Election for U.S. Senator.
It has just been pointed out to me (I should have known) by Operation Rescue Boston and Massresistance that there really are no Pro-Life, Pro-Family candidates for the Massachusetts Senate Seat vacated by John Kerry.

Mike Sullivan has chased out all TEA Party and Pro-Life, Pro-Traditional Marriage supporters who helped him gather his candidate signatures, has surrounded himself with radical pro-homosexual, anti-DOMA, haters of Traditional values

Gabe Gomez is a new kind of Republican, a Democrat who donated to Obama’s campaign

Ed Markey is to the Left of everyone, and supports Marriage of himself with Planned Parenthood Steve Lynch was actually a Pro-Life Democrat 25 years ago, but running for National Office while a Democrat means embracing certain positions.

What to do? There are a lot of people who believe in voting for the lesser of two (or three) evils. We think that reasoning is flawed and just leads to an overall shift to the left. On Tuesday, we intend to go into the voting booth and hand in a blank ballot. We suggest you consider doing the same. It sends a good message.

Sorry for the earlier recommendation of Sullivan, and the confusion.

Good Movie: ‘Frequency’ Like[1999’s] smash hit The Sixth Sense,Frequency is a human drama told against a paranormal backdrop, a story of two characters a generation apart in troubling circumstances who share a mysterious bond and who help one another in different ways.
Yet, where The Sixth Sense was overshadowed by the specter of death, Frequency is about life. This is a film about the legacy of fatherhood and the inheritance of sonship, about the unbreakable connection and the unbridgeable gap between one generation and the next. It is a celebration of masculinity, but it contemplates how men relate to women as an index of their manhood. This film believes in family; in the strength of fathers and the nurturing of mothers — qualities symbolized by the uniforms of firefighters or policemen and nurses. It also believes in baseball, especially the Amazin’ Mets of the ’69 Series. Most of all, Frequency touches upon the profound human longing to escape the constraints of time, to see the wrongs and mistakes of the past somehow set right, redeemed. – Stephen D. Greydanus

Subject: Tuesday Primary - Part 2

As you may know, tomorrow [Tuesday Apr 30] is the primary for the senate seat. Four of the five running are overtly pro-abortion: Democrats Markey and Lynch, and Republicans Winslow and Gomez.

Republican Mike Sullivan professes to be pro-life, but also opposes the Defense of Marriage Act.

After sending the email with Brian Camenker's commentary, I received some feedback that you may want to consider prior to voting.

I spoke with State Representative Jim Lyons, whose wife Bernadette many of you may know since she has been a sidewalk counselor for many years. Jim is also a dedicated pro-lifer and said his whole reason for seeking public office is to advance the Culture of Life, which he believes is possible even in this state, though it will be a slow and difficult process.

Jim said he is also disappointed in Mike Sullivan's non-support of DOMA and some other things pointed out in Brian's email about Sullivan. But he is also adamant in his belief that Mike Sullivan will be a pro-life senator based upon his extensive conversation with him.

Another person commented that Mike Sullivan has maintained his pro-life position despite numerous opportunities to negate it during the campaign.

On another vital matter, we had two women decide against abortion Saturday, one in Brookline and one at Planned Parenthood. Total for year: 26.

It's a tough decision, and I apologize if I have contributed to the confusion. Certainly a case can be made either way, so please do not feel bad, and if he wins I may still vote for him in the General Election

Perhaps I am fatigued by the republican stealth involved in getting any Pro-Life candidate elected.

Perhaps if someone had counseled Mike to pick on one single weakness of the allegedly Pro-Choice side, for example change the subject from Roe v. Wade to Doe v. Bolton.

Most of the country is uncomfortable with the concept of late abortions (though most hard hearted people cannot even begin to hear of it). If Mike asked questions instead of trying to defend his Pro-Life position by diffusion, he could turn the tables. When I hear his responses to the WGBH crowd it almost sounds to me like he does not want to upset the abortion apple cart.

If someone could tell Mike to change the subject every time abortion comes up, and ask two simple questions;

1. Would the Pro-Choicers accept a compromise of overturning Doe instead of Roe - that is, should we as a Nation disallow abortions after 18 weeks because the mother's health; which includes her family size, and her feelings. Why hasn't the so-called Pro-Choice side offered any compromise. Their only compromise has been a loophole.

2. If abortion is such a lightning rod, why are the so-called Pro-Choice people pushing tax funding of abortion?

where's the compromise on the Pro-Choice abortion side?

sorry for ranting.

Update from Bill Cotter below.
