Road Trip

I ran into Kevin O'Brien during the march for Life on Tuesday January 22nd. He's the tall guy on the right. If you're even in Milwaukee Wisconsin, just ask for Kevin.

Kevin started the First Friday Masses and all night Eucharistic Adoration at the Problem Pregnancy Chapel just over four years ago. Now he's helping the Diocese of Milwaukee run their Catholic Men's Conference.

Message for Richard:

Enjoyed the email conversation. The same Gardner priest who was denigrating Our Lady a few weeks ago is at it again. This time Paul is mentioning him by name at his blog. This because the priest in question has his homilies broadcast throughout North Central Massachusetts.

We sure need Eucharistic Adoration here in Massachusetts. And I mean all over. The Church in Boston is in a state of collapse:

The apostasy is spreading. You can really feel the darkness enveloping almost everything. This at a time when so many "pastors" seem to be asleep.

Michael,

It is really sad that that priest is sowing confusion and using not only his pulpit but a radio station to do so. We are really experiencing a crisis of leadership in the Worcester Diocese. And I'm not referring to our Bishop at all. He is trying to clean house. But so many are working against him. I overheard a conversation in Westminster (at the Post Office)in which a Catholic laywoman was talking to a Catholic layman and parishioner of St. Edward Parish. She was relating how some priests don't care for the Bishop's leadership and specifically mentioned Holy Rosary in Gardner. I couldn't hear the whole conversation as I collected my mail and left. But clearly Bishop McManus is feared because he is working to bring much-needed change and a return to orthodoxy. Why else would Fr. Dargis tell his parishioners that he lives in fear of getting a call from the Bishop as one person related at La Salette Journey?

The genius of Pope Benedict XVI reveals itself again:

For years I have been trying to show that Jewish opposition to the Good Friday Prayer of the 1962Missal was not motivated by a real concern for language which was deemed "anti-Semitic" but by hostility to the Church's Divine Commission.

QED.

Catholics need to realize that there is a coming clash between the Church and the Jewish community. Read here:

This is why Paul Melanson has been stressing just what the Church believes (and teaches) with regard to the Jews and what She does not.

Realizing that the Holy Father would issue a Motu Proprio authorizing the use of the 1962 Missal - Latin Mass - by any priest, and that there has also been a rising tide of anti-Semitism in so-called "traditional Catholic" circles (Karl Keating estimates about 20,000 or so who would fit into this category), Paul realized early on that this would be a matter of critical concern.

By the grace of God, more Catholic bloggers will address these issues. All the more so since Islam is presenting some of the same challenges to the Church.

I ran into Howard Dean this past weekend and asked him to describe in one word how he feels about the Democratic Party's chances in the 2008 presidential election. His response: eyaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!

What, me worry?
