Right to die kill

Apr 26 Thu Visitation House annual dinner: Ambassador Raymond L. Flynn keynote

Massachusetts' Physician Assisted Suicide (Initiative 11-12, modeled on Oregon's Physician Assisted Suicide law) is on the ballot this November:

Nicknamed the Bill 'em & Kill 'em law, only a physician and a single relative, who can be an heir, need be present during said physician assisted suicide. Ponder that, and ask who this bill is designed to protect?

I think the question remains, who speaks for the patient

The Hemlock Society (aka Compassion & Choices) claims that no patient chose physician assisted suicide as the result of a lack of health insurance - which is true enough - but it was the Oregon Health Plan, that informed 64-year-old retired school bus driver Barbara Wagner when her cancer returned, that while it would not "cover a prescription to extend her life it would cover her assisted suicide." What a comfort Health insurance must be at a time such as that.

Please write letters to the Editor underscoring that this is a misguided and dangerous law which does not promote a right to die so much as provide a right to kill
