Pro-Life Boycott List

Life Decisions International, LDI has compiled the complete de facto list of Corporations that donate to Planned Parenthood, and presents a compelling case as to why all of us Pro-Lifers should boycott these businesses, and why we should write to the their CEOs and express our disgust with their business decision to financially support the largest abortion business in the United States. This list is updated, and so far 281 Corporations have stopped funding Planned Parenthood because of these boycotts, to the tune of $41 Million. This week the LDI Pro-Life Letter writing campaign targets: Mr. William R. Pippin, Pres. Stanbio Laboratory Inc. 1261 N. Main St., Boeme, TX 78006. 800-531-5535 Sample Letter

Some Good News on the Marriage Front: "The message we sent was pretty simple," said Brian Brown, executive director of NOM. "If you are a Republican and you vote for [gay] marriage, you are going to lose."

According to the Associated Press: "Republican primary voters in New York punished two incumbents last week who voted to legalize same-sex marriage, firing a potential warning shot nationwide toward GOP lawmakers who could soon face tough votes in their states.

Two of the four veteran-and long-secure-Republican senators in New York who voted for same-sex marriage a year ago await counts of absentee ballots as they sweat out the political fight of their lives. A third announced his retirement this year in the face of strong opposition to his gay marriage vote.

"Any Republican legislator faced with this vote is going to think twice," said Robert Bellafiore, a political commentator and former top aide to Republican Gov. George Pataki of New York. "I don't think there is any question this going to have a chilling effect across the country."

John Fund in National Review put it the most simply in his editorial, "Gay Marriage Backers Face Consequences in N.Y. Primaries"

To put it in the terms of St. Thomas Aquinas: An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law." Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., Even though a gay man walked into the lobby of Family Research Council, FRC in Washington D.C., and opened fire; when tackled by the Johnson building manager whom he shot, the shooter begged for his life saying "Don't shoot me, it was not about you, it was what this place stands for." Stanbio Laboratory Inc.
1261 N. Main St.
Boeme, TX 78006

Dear Mr. Pippin,
I am dismayed to hear from Life Decisions International that your Company, Stanbio Laboratory Inc., donates money to the largest abortion provider in the United States, Planned Parenthood. I in good conscience can no longer purchase, use, associate with or recommend any of your cleaning products, medical devices or diagnostic kits, including HemoPoint®, Stat-Site® and QuPID®. I would hope that even if you do not believe that an individual has a right to life that begins before they exit the womb, your business instincts would help you to recognize the no-win situation that donating to Planned Parenthood places your company in. Alienating the majority of Americas who believe in the Right to Life couldn’t possibly be a sound business practice.

I would urge you to stop all financial support of Planned Parenthood. If you have any questions as to why Stanbio Labs is on the LDI boycott list, you should contact:

Abortion avoidance

Statistics Abortion is a controversial issue that many are happy to avoid. As caring human beings, we can't afford this luxury. Too many new mothers are given the false hope that abortion is the solution to all their problems. Many new parents don't know how developed their children are when they choose abortion. Since Roe v. Wade, in 1973, over 48 million choices have been made that have resulted in the deaths of unborn children. Think about what this means and what it will continue to mean to all of us if we can't change things. --Over 1.29 million people were killed through abortion in the United States in 2002.(1) --Over 48 million people have been killed through abortion in the United States since the Roe vs. Wade decision.(2) --Approximately 42 million abortions occur every year worldwide. (3) --Abortion killed 73 times more Americans than died in battle in our last 12 wars combined.(4) --To equal the average number of abortion deaths in one year, the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center would have had to have been more than 400 times more lethal. --Abortion worldwide kills more people every 2 months than the Holocaust did in 12 years. --48 million people equals approximately 16 percent of the current population of the United States. --The number of people killed by abortions since 1973 exceed the current populations of each of the 50 states, including California. --Almost 1 out of every 4 Americans babies are aborted.(1) --This number is greater than the current populations of Sweden, Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, Ireland, Iceland, Finland, Estonia, and Denmark COMBINED. --It would have taken about 342 Hiroshima type nuclear attacks to kill as many people as abortion has killed since Roe vs. Wade. Facts --Abortion is inherently unsafe to the mother. --Physical problems from abortion can include hemorrhage, infection, sterility and even death. --Psychological effects can include depression and mental trauma to divorce and suicide. --Women often experience "severe" or "intense" pain during an abortion. --The psychological effects of an abortion are so well documented, that psychologists have grouped them under one name: post-abortion syndrome (PAS). Women may experience symptoms of PAS right after the abortion, but oftentimes PAS does not manifest itself until many months or years after the abortion. --Symptoms of PAS are: recurrent memories, dreams of the abortion experience, avoidance of emotional attachment, relationship problems, sleep disturbance, guilt, memory impairment, hostile outbursts, and substance abuse. --Fathers, grandparents, and siblings can also experience the psychological effects of abortion. I weigh in, and take sides...

late, in the kerfuffle between Fr. Peter West and Catholic Blogger Mark Shea. I think the crux of this matter is that Mark Shea held out a situation (gay man he considers a 'saint') where there is the Near Occasion of sin, and Scandal, but Mark ignored these factors, or completely downplayed them, and when called on this, (by Fr. Peter West of HLI, who stated there is “something deeply wrong with Mark Shea,”) he has not changed or moderated his position. I'm sure some of Fr. West's 'followers' have been less than charitable, and perhaps rash in their judgments, but those comments are not Fr. West's. Shea's problem is it is foolish to ignore or plead ignorance of someone’s public living situation when extolling their Christian virtue. Intentional Ignorance is not Invincible.
